The Action Championship produced two more qualifiying spots for the Closed events. I also got another confirmation for the Junior Closed. Here are the updated rosters:

Adult Closed

Davis Whaley - 2014 State Co-champion; winner of blitz playoff

Junior Closed

Vidu Godage - Middle School Champion

Om Kanmadikar - State Individual

Brian Wright - Action Championship

The adult winner of the Action Tournament is currently undecided and I'm still waiting confirmation on another high school player.

Randas,

Garrett Wright is the K-8 Co-Champion with ViduGodage.  If there have been Jr players dropping from the Jr. Closed, Garrett would love to play in the Jr. Closed.  He is the current K-8 State Champion with Vidu Godage.

Thanks for your consideration,

Jim Wright

Here is somethin fun I did. People keep saying that this year's closed is the strngest closed. So I decided to see if that was true. So I found every closed except for a couple and totaled the ratings of the players before the event was rated:

1992 = 12,426
1993 = 12,284
1993 = 11,831
1995 = 12,084
1996 = 11,937
1997 = unfound
1998 = unfound
1999 = 11,825
2000 = unfound
2001 = unfound
2002 = 12,054
2003 = 12,381
2004 = unfound
2005 = 12,245
2006 = 12,289
2007 = 12,466
2008 = 12,787
2009 = 12,318
2010 = 12,185
2011 = 12,369
2012 = 12,678
2013 = 12,626
2014 = 12,881
2015 = 13,303

Average = 12,367

So yep, this is almost 1,000 points stronger than average. and is the highest total ever.

Saturday rouns will be played in Gordon Hall on the upper level.  Enter from the Browns Lane side of the building.  Sunday the church uses that room so we will move to Room 103 on the lower level.  Enter from the back side of the building on Sunday.  We will show all the players how to find that room on Saturday before the tournament starts.

There will be no concessions offered.  There is a soft drink machine in the building with a cost of 75 cents.  We'll have water and perhaps something else available to drink.

There are a number of restaurants within a few blocks of the church.  IF you are not familiar with the area I can give you directions.

There are 3 churches within 2 blocks of each other so make sure you are at the right one!! :)  Call me if you get lost at 502 553 9281.
