This week I will only do necessary updates in the form of Tournaments or Clubs that are e-mailed to me using forms or the KCAWebteam@gmail.com E-mail. I am involved in teaching yet another chess camp this week and have little time. I will resume regular maintenance next week.

I am not sure what the holdup is on changing the homepage.  John Stewart is on facebook nearly everyday.  If you need any assistance let me know.

Amback, have you ever clicked the "Next Blog" at the top of your site?  You can get some freaky blogs by doing that.

Btw, I posted on John Stewart's facebook and he never got back with me on the web information.  Not sure if he contacted anyone at KCA either.

Freakiness removed. Parental controls were already in place although that does not block general weirdness.

Ryan, make me and administrator on the webs.com site and I will get this done. Stewart is only needed to get rid of the redirecting inconvenience but we can go ahead with the homepage and other updates.

I made you an admin as requested however I am unsure how this helps you. Terry Vibbert is who set the redirection from old to the new kcawebsite. You should call me at some point this evening Bobby to discuss some of the website stuffs: 502-240-9325.

Amback, there is a Blog option on Webs.com.  You can add it as an application to this site and then make it the home page.  I believe you could make this blog look exactly like the blog you are using now. 

Also, there are plenty of other applications and modules you can add to Webs.com.  You will have to get access to their "Site Manager", but it even allows you to enter custom created modules that can be coded with normal html/css.

wow, this Webs.com is pretty impressive actually.  Video Blog, online store, and even a Wiki option all built in. 

Reading reviews, it has a few bugs, but gets great ratings from what I have read so far.  I didn't realize these online builders had progressed so far.  I'm impressed with all of the behind-the-scenes options and addons.

Gonna go play some more and see if I can find better options for this crappy forum.

Sounds good. I know that I can export the entire blog but if there is already an application for multimedia then I can transfer the old content over to webs.com.  I will need the "Site Manager" access, then I can replicate the blog on webs.com.  I plan on playing in the tournament tonight but I'll call you later when I have more time Ryan.  If you can send me the access via email and let me play for awhile then I think that would be a more fruitful discussion.

The Forums are by far the weakest app on Webs.com.

However, the Calendar is absolutely awesome.  You can assign Moderators and all of them can add events, including repeating events.  Can NOT separate scholastic from adult, but that is minor.  I would use this instead of Lexchess.com!!!!

Creating a Form for contact us is embarrassingly easy.

Get us a real template when you guys put this together, there are some pretty options.

Amback, it literally takes less than 1 minute to create an account on Webs.com.  You don't even have to verify an email to get started.  The FREE account works for playing around.

Just spoke with Amback about being on the web team. Would you like to be on it too? Webs truly is awesome but I do agree their message board system isn't that great. However, their customer service is top notch. They have a live chat room to talk. I never waited more than 30 seconds to talk to someone and they always fix the problem. I recommend chatting with them about any updates. They also have a facebook & twitter that I keep up with usually to see new updates and such.

If you join the web team we have run out of secret decoder rings. But... we should be able to get you one soon.
