In conjunction with the state team championships we have added open sections for both rated adn non-rated play.  Come on in this Saturday. The fee for the Chess Festival will be $20. The rated sections will return 90% of entery fees as prizes. The unrated section will also return 90% of entries as prizes, which will be USCF memberships. The chess festival will also have scholastic sections with trophies as prizes. USCF memerbship is NOT required for the UNRATED section - all other sctions require USCF membership.

This tournament on Saturday March 5 is at the U of Louisville Student Activities Center. This is on the main U of L campus. The address is:

The exits for the University of Louisville are directly off of I-65 North or South.

1. If coming from I-265 (Gene Snyder) or I-264 (Watterson Expressway), you will want to head North on I-65.

2. If coming from I-71 South or I-64 East or West, you will want to head south on I-65.


Directions if Traveling I-65 South:

(I-65 is accessible from I-71, I-64 and I-264)

1. Take I-65 South (Toward Nashville), to the Arthur Street exit (Exit 134). If you reach the Fairgrounds / Watterson Expressway exits, you have gone too far.

2. Continue to the first stop sign, Arthur Street and Brandeis Avenue.

3. Turn right onto Brandeis Avenue / Cardinal Boulevard.

4. Turn left onto Floyd Street.

5. The first building on your right is the Student Activities Center.

6. The Floyd Street garage will be directly past the Student Activities Center, on your Right.

Directions if Traveling I-65 North:

(I-65 is accessible from I-71, I-64 and I-264)

1. Take I-65 North (Toward Indianapolis) to the Warnock exit (west 134).

2. Turn left onto Warnock at the end of the exit ramp.

3. Turn right onto Floyd Street.

4. The Floyd Street Garage will be on your left.

5. The Student Activities Center is the building directly north to the Floyd Street Garage.
