I seem to remember you used to have the scholastic state champions listed on your website. Where is the link to that now.

Hey Dave,

That is one of the mysteries I have been unable to solve for some reason. During the transition from the old website to the new one, I cut and pasted everything successfully. For months, they were up with no issues. I even edited it at Ron Lipman's request to put Drew up for scholastic related chess as well as adult related chess events he qualified for.

The only other person which I gave the admin password to was Bobby Amback. I am sure he didn't do anything either. So, if I cannot solve this issue soon, I will re-type the chart with the scholastic champions.

way to go ryan. I guess that's why people voted you in. I , along with other parents I'm sure, look forward to seeing it up soon.

February,

The question was asked in September.

The information has been passed on to you to post.

Please post it.

Steve,

I posted this information many months ago. The information that is not posted are the grade level champions. I do not intend to post the information unless someone takes it upon themselves to make the list for me. I have another post that thoroughly explains my position.

The webmaster position, for me, has been a relatively thankless job with uncompensated hours. I have attempted for a year and a half to fix any and all website issues presented to me. In the end, regardless of my efforts, the same people critique my efforts even when I deliver to them the website fixes they request. I am finding an extreme inability to get people to be pleased with my work.

I have made a post about a week ago discussing things publically with Dave Gilcrest. Many people have viewed my posts and almost everyone, including people I respect, have not made any attempts to keep me as a webmaster, to offer words of encouragement, or to say job well done. Therefore, it is my belief that the community is displeased with my efforts and I will move on from the position.

Originally, I was promised compensation of a meager amount of which I have yet to receive. Therefore, in a month, I will step down. My only function for the KCA is to ensure scholastic information is posted through the State Individual. I do not want parents upset or mislead during tournament season. Thus, I will ensure that information is up to date. All other information can be edited by the future webmaster.

I do not want anyone to feel I am upset or angry -- I simply feel I did a good job and I feel I have made the webmaster position something anyone can do if they are willing to let me train them for 30 minutes. However, with the lack of support and barrage of emails from unsatisfied people, I cannot continue my post.

I just updated the Champs page on the website to include links for all of the KY Scholastic Champs. Is this what people were asking for? All that's left to do is update the champions from the most recent years.

Ryan: The treasurer sent me an email two days ago requesting permission to pay you. I approved this expenditure immediately and I anticipate that you will receive a check soon. I appreciate your contributions as Webmaster and I didn't contest your decision to step down only because you've expressed to me in person that it's hopelessly frustrating and unfulfilling for you. I'd rather see you happy, and I'm sure that once you take a break from this, you'll find lots of ways to contribute to the KCA - you always do.  Maybe you should take a break from tournament play, too, so that someone else can win every once in a while.
