If asked... We can probably do the Adult Team as well.. KCA has not held that one if a few years.. We might have to make the Lexington teams play blindfolded though,  to even things out .. :)

I have a pretty good record against all of the Lexington crowd. I wouldn't want you all to have a footnote to my victory over you.  ;-)

Hey Don

I'd actually like to do a adult team championship again. I was actually thinking of doing it in Lexingtion but I don't have a good date in mind. I actually wanted to pick Jerry's mind about the details of the event. He ran it last time I believe and has experience with it. If you guys could run it and can find a site and date I'll advertise for it. Just avoid April 12th as that is the WKU open and I don't want to conflict with that. Magnus Carlsen is supposed to be there as part of a business conference and he'll probably be world champion at that point.

What is everybody's thoughts on holding the adult team tournament on March 23, in Lexington?  Also I think we should do team average rating must be under 1800...what does everyone think? Could also bump it up to 1850 or 1900, but I feel we want every team have a chance. FYI we will use the most recent official published rating for those trying to squeeze out every last rating point.

A few scenarios for U1800

2175, 1850, 1720, 1430 = 1793.7

2050, 2030, 2010, 1100 = 1797.5

2275, 2130, 1680, 1120 = 1795

As long as the event doesn't conflict with a Scholastic event run by Chess Performance or the KCA, I'll attend.

March is no good . March 23rd is real bad for attendance ( especially in Lexington ) I got appointment set up for Tuesday for the ultimate site.. Trust me.. I will send you all the details this week... You run the event, send it in.. I get you the site and pay for it. I want this to be a Big Team event.

The goal for this event will be to have at minimum 16 teams with at least 3 out of state, 3 scholatic. Long-ago we had 16 teams show up... People enjoy playing in this event, so lets not get bogged down in minutia. 90% of people who show up to this just do so because its fun.
